At Solidbase Behavioral Health, we may use the QbTest as part of a comprehensive evaluation for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

QbTest is a computerized assessment that combines attention and impulse-control tasks with objective measurements of movement. It provides additional information that may help a qualified clinician understand patterns associated with ADHD.

What Does the QbTest Measure?

During the assessment, you complete a computer-based task while a specialized system tracks your performance and movement.

Depending on the version used, QbTest can provide information about areas such as:

• Attention – ability to maintain focus and respond appropriately to the task
• Impulsivity – tendency to respond too quickly or make incorrect responses
• Activity level – patterns of movement during the assessment

The results are compared with age- and sex-adjusted reference data to help identify patterns that may be consistent with ADHD.

Is QbTest an ADHD Diagnosis?

No. QbTest does not diagnose ADHD by itself.

ADHD is a clinical diagnosis based on a comprehensive assessment of symptoms, developmental history, functional impairment, and information from appropriate sources. The clinician may also consider other conditions that can cause symptoms similar to ADHD.

QbTest is best viewed as an additional objective assessment tool, rather than a standalone diagnostic test.

What to Expect During a QbTest

The QbTest is completed on a computer and generally involves responding to specific visual or auditory stimuli according to the instructions provided.

A specialized camera or sensor system may track your movements while you complete the task. The assessment is designed to be straightforward and does not require extensive preparation.

Your clinician will explain the results and discuss how they fit with your overall clinical evaluation.
